• Responsible for assigning accurate and timely clinical codes to patient episodes of care at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside • Analysis of patient record documentation • Using the appropriate version of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Australian Modification (ICD10AM) • Applying Australian Coding Standards and relevant State Coding authority advice • Involved with ongoing training and education sessions • Participate in ongoing audits
• Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent, or Clinical Coding qualifications from HIMAA or equivalent. • The successful applicant will be required to provide accurate and timely coding of patient records using ICD 10 AM. • At least two years clinical coding experience. • Previous experience with 3M Codefinder software. • Experience in clinical coding across a range of DRGs with demonstrated high quality coding skills. • Up to date knowledge of Clinical Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards and be prepared to participate in performance and quality improvement activities.
