stadt. werk | Digitalmanufaktur is a German digital agency that develops custom software and websites for companies and builds a JavaScript-based web application called C³ (Company Communication Core) that functions as a central data hub and integration layer for businesses and their customers. They also design print products, plan events, and offer systemic coaching and team-development formats to support teams and leaders in organizational change. The company focuses on digitizing analog processes and providing holistic services that combine technical development with people-centered coaching.

📋 Description

• You are not just 'the tester.' At desk:box you will build the quality assurance function and shape how we think about and live quality. • You develop our QA strategy and establish processes suited to a growing startup—pragmatic yet sustainable. • You define testing standards and ensure quality is not an afterthought but part of our DNA. • You manually test new features and identify where automation makes sense. • You work closely with our development team—short lines of communication and direct feedback. • You keep compliance in mind: as GoBD-certified software, we must meet regulatory requirements. • In the medium term, you will build and lead a small QA team.

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of experience in quality assurance for web applications. • You know the difference between 'it works on my machine' and 'it works'—and you know how to ensure the latter. • Experience with manual testing methods and a good instinct for where bugs hide. • Basic understanding of test automation (E2E, integration, unit)—you don't have to write every script yourself but should know what's possible. • Ability to document test processes and communicate them to others. • Nice-to-haves: experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar). • Knowledge of API testing (Postman, REST clients). • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and how testing fits into them. • Understanding of compliance requirements (GoBD, GDPR) or willingness to learn. • Some initial leadership experience or a desire to grow into a leadership role.

🏖️ Benefits

• Competitive salary and a permanent contract—startup energy with a solid foundation. • 30 days of vacation—because thorough testing requires a clear head. • Flexible work: remote work and flexible hours are standard with us. • Real influence: you will build this area from the ground up—rare opportunity. • Short decision paths: flat hierarchies and direct access to development and management. • Capital-forming benefits (vermögenswirksame Leistungen) and other perks. • Growth opportunities: grow with the company—from the first QA lead to team manager.
