📋 Description

• Lead and oversee trade compliance programs for Mexico operations. • Ensure compliance with Mexican customs regulations, import/export laws, and applicable international trade requirements. • Oversee IMMEX compliance, including adherence to program requirements, controls, reporting obligations, and coordination with internal stakeholders to maintain program integrity. • Monitor temporary importation processes and ensure proper control, reconciliation, and discharge of goods imported under the IMMEX program. • Support compliance related to tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, and recordkeeping requirements. • Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant import/export activity. • Conduct compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments related to customs and trade operations, including IMMEX-related controls. • Monitor and interpret changes in trade laws, customs regulations, and IMMEX program requirements affecting Mexico operations. • Investigate compliance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. • Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls, policies, and standard operating procedures related to trade compliance and IMMEX program administration. • Support government inquiries, customs audits, and regulatory inspections as needed. • Deliver trade compliance training to relevant employees and business partners, including training on IMMEX obligations and customs procedures. • Drive process improvements and support duty optimization initiatives where applicable. • Ensure all sites in Mexico are compliant with Supply Chain Security Programs, including CTPAT and OEA, by maintaining program requirements, supporting audits and validations, and driving corrective actions to address identified gaps.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business, Supply Chain, Law, Finance, or a related field. • 7+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or a related field. • Strong knowledge of Mexican customs regulations and international trade compliance requirements. • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting IMMEX compliance and temporary import/export programs in Mexico. • Familiarity with tariff classification, valuation, origin determination, and customs procedures. • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of internal controls, audit practices, and compliance program management. • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive process improvement. • Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant trade compliance or ERP systems. • Fluency in Spanish and English. • Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment and SAT audits.
