📋 Description
• You will report to the Director of engineering • Lead the design and development of scalable, backend APIs and services that integrate with cloud services, with a focus on IBM Cloud • Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and Partner teams to understand requirements and design interfaces that are intuitive and maintainable • Guide the evolution of Sysdig's managed service capabilities in cloud environments, specifically IBM Cloud • Influence long-term architecture and technical direction for Sysdig's integrations with IBM Cloud (IAM, authn/authz, service-to-service patterns, resiliency) • Champion quality, simplicity, and clarity in system design, API design, and data modeling • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and raising engineering standards
🎯 Requirements
• Experience designing and building distributed backend systems and APIs (data-heavy or high-throughput systems are a plus) • Experience with cloud fundamentals (compute, networking, identity, security), with the ability to ramp quickly on IBM Cloud specifics • Experience with IAM and access patterns (OAuth/OIDC, JWT, RBAC/policy-based access); IBM Cloud IAM experience is a plus • Good grasp of SaaS operations and Kubernetes (deployments, scaling, observability and incident response mindset) • Development experience in Java, Go, or similar languages • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores (e.g., Postgres plus other database systems)
