📋 Description

• Develop one of the first multinational drone early-warning systems designed to protect the European Union. • Bring the devices behind the next-generation AI system online and operational in the field. • As part of a 35-person team of sensor, IoT, and hardware engineers, successfully commission complex products on-site at customer organizations. • Travel for up to six weeks at a time. • Validate, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software in operational environments under live conditions and unpredictable field circumstances. • Understand complex customer requirements. • Lead technical pre-sales engagements. • Develop smaller, customized system adaptations so that products integrate into customers’ specific ecosystems. • Monitor systems, resolve incidents, and continuously improve observability.

🎯 Requirements

• Due to security regulations for this role, citizenship of an EU member state is required. • You are officially registered as a resident in an EU country. • At least 8 years of professional experience in IT, such as hardware or software engineering; ideally 10–20 years. • At least 4 years of professional experience as a Field Application Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Deployment Architect in an IoT environment. • Experience with embedded Linux across different architectures and in-depth knowledge of low-level Linux network configuration, including routing, iptables, and socket programming. • Expert-level debugging and troubleshooting skills. • HIL/SIL experience. • Advanced proficiency in C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, or TypeScript. • Fluent English; proficiency in any additional spoken language is a plus. • You are interested in working in the defense sector. • You thrive in a dynamic startup or scale-up environment. • Willingness to travel 50% within the EU, particularly to NATO’s eastern borders. • Nice to have: Experience with sensor and tracking standards such as ASTERIX, MAVLink, Cursor on Target (CoT), and STANAG 4609/KLV. • Nice to have: Experience using logic analyzers, such as Saleae, and oscilloscopes to analyze hardware interfaces, including UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN bus. • Nice to have: Experience with Docker and container orchestration, such as K3s/Kubernetes, on rugged edge-computing platforms in field conditions. • Nice to have: Experience with RTOS. • Nice to have: Understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP, and experience with Wireshark, TShark, or Scapy. • Nice to have: Familiarity with disassemblers and decompilers, such as Ghidra or IDA Pro, for extracting and analyzing firmware blobs. • Nice to have: Understanding of radio frequency (RF) technology and experience with software-defined radios, such as HackRF or USRP, as well as GNU Radio for signal and jamming simulation. • Apply exclusively through the company website with an up-to-date résumé and links to your LinkedIn and GitHub profiles.
