• Perform electrical designs of projects from conception thru design completion including collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, communication systems design, cable routing, grounding design, equipment selection and specs. • Modify and review electrical drawings. • Perform cable ampacity and trench design using software packages like CYMCAP, ETAP or AmpCalc. • Modeling of electrical systems using software packages like ETAP or SKM for generation of electrical reports including short circuit analysis, reactive power and load flow analysis, and arc flash hazard analysis. • Modeling of grounding system design using software packages including CDEGs and WinIGS. • Support Project Managers or other staff on design of power generation projects and design of renewable energy projects. • Design electrical components for projects needs and requirements as set forth by Project Managers. • Apply strong knowledge of electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes and procedures using common electrical industry standards. • Support Project Managers or other staff on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades. • Work under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designs. • Provide input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutions. • Participate in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work. • Participate in budget development.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program • Six (6) years or more of professional electrical experience • Five (5) years or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experience • Five (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferred • Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred • Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus • ETAP or SKM software experience • Proficiency with AutoCAD • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
