📋 Description

• Cooperate closely with the field-based team as an extension of Country Medical Affairs • Develop and enhance professional relationships with medical thought leaders, treatment centers of excellence, societies, and associations • Provide balanced medical information through scientific exchange and clinical/scientific support to the company • Support Ultragenyx products in development and commercialized brands in Italy • Identify Key Opinion Leaders and establish and maintain scientific relationships with them • Act as primary liaison to HCPs interested in investigator-initiated research • Contribute to implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy in Italy with the Associate Medical Director • Provide clinical presentations and information in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings • Provide scientific and medical information updates and support at medical congresses • Collaborate with Clinical Operations to identify clinical trial sites and interact with investigators • Establish a diagnostic network linking primary referral HCPs, KOLs, and diagnostic labs • Increase awareness of Ultragenyx rare diseases of interest • Provide timely feedback on emerging clinical/scientific teams and opportunities to internal stakeholders • Provide scientific support for appropriate educational initiatives • Ensure compliance with Ultragenyx internal policies and local healthcare regulations

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in clinical specialty required (MD, PhD, PharmD) • 1-3 years of industry experience required • Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in neurology, metabolic and genetic disorders • Demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific information required • Expert understanding of the health care delivery system in Italy and its impact on patient care and Regional medical care • Fluent in Italian, with written and verbal skills at least C1 level • Proficiency in English sufficient for efficient scientific reading in the disease area and internal communication internationally • Approximately 50-60% travel required; overnight travel required as needed
