📋 Description

• Help own the technical direction and architecture of the Unity Web platform • Resolve complex, multidimensional runtime problems through deep root cause analysis and validate fixes against developer needs • Research, design and implement optimizations including code stripping, progressive asset loading and multi-threading • Prioritize and complete an independent portfolio of platform work in agreement with the manager • Act as the first line of support for Unity teams and partners needing capabilities from the core Web platform • Mentor engineers across the team and set the standard for code quality • Translate technical trade-offs into clear, concise recommendations for Unity leaders

🎯 Requirements

• Expert level C++ in low-level, performance sensitive code • Substantial development experience with WebAssembly, using Emscripten and/or LLVM • Proven track record of owning architecture for a platform or runtime and validating it against real customer needs • Ability to run deep root cause analysis on complex, multidimensional problems • Ability to work independently, prioritizing against long-term platform goals • Effective written/verbal communication that boils deep technical detail down for teams outside your own • Proven track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across a team • Sufficient knowledge of English for professional verbal and written exchanges • Experience working on the internals of a browser engine • Deeper domain knowledge of rendering, physics or audio in a real-time 3D engine • Familiarity with compression methodologies and code size optimization at scale
