📋 Description

• Design, plan, implement, and tune mission-critical systems • Develop and execute recovery procedures for mission-critical systems • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues • Ensure computing operations run with optimal performance and security • Maintain high availability and acceptable performance of mission-critical infrastructure • Analyse production system performance and stability and identify optimisation opportunities • Respond to support escalations • Develop security procedures to protect systems from unauthorised use • Develop backup and restoration procedures, programs, and documentation • Develop and maintain system monitoring and alerting • Own and resolve escalated service issues • Provide technical services and support for internal systems, cloud, and network infrastructure • Administer virtualization technologies including VMware, Proxmox, Microsoft, and LXC • Monitor system alerts and notifications remotely • Maintain the remote monitoring and management system, including agent scripts, alerts, dashboards, audits, and reviews • Participate in post-incident reviews • Perform other related Site Reliability Engineer and/or DevOps Engineer responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, System Administrator, or similar • Working knowledge of cloud environments and technologies such as AWS and Oracle • Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, proxies, LAN/WAN networks, and patch management tools • Proficiency with ELK stack log management and visualisation • Proficiency with Prometheus and Grafana • Proficiency with Git and GitLab CI/CD pipelines • Proficiency with Terraform • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes/containerisation and orchestration • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server operating systems • Knowledge of HTTP and TCP network protocol stacks • Knowledge of system security, including intrusion detection systems, and data backup/recovery • Ability to create scripts and automate processes using Rundeck, Ansible, Bash, and Puppet • Working experience with Nginx, PHP-FPM, SSL, DNS, and Cloudflare is a plus • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certifications are a plus • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as a team player • Organised, patient, and professional demeanour with a can-do attitude • Availability outside working hours to promptly resolve emergency issues
