📋 Description

• Understand finance and business stakeholder reporting requirements and translate them into Power BI dashboards • Build and maintain Power BI semantic models, relationships and measures • Develop advanced and performant DAX measures for business and financial reporting • Build reporting over governed data in a medallion architecture, primarily using the gold layer • Implement and maintain row-level security for sensitive finance, commission and people data • Use Direct Lake on Microsoft Fabric where appropriate and optimise models and reports • Capture and reproduce existing reporting definitions and business logic from the DataCube • Validate reporting against source data and agreed business definitions • Support user acceptance testing with finance and business stakeholders • Document measures, definitions and reporting logic • Collaborate with the Senior Fabric Engineer and provide feedback on gold-layer model changes • Build clear, intuitive and visually effective dashboards • Contribute to internal and client-facing analytics and reporting projects across the Data & AI Practice

🎯 Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including production-level dashboards and reporting solutions • Strong experience with Power BI semantic modelling • Excellent knowledge of DAX, including complex, efficient and performant measures • Strong understanding of analytical data modelling, including star schemas, relationships and measures • Experience designing and implementing row-level security (RLS) within Power BI • Good understanding of Power BI connectivity and storage approaches, including Import, DirectQuery and Direct Lake • Experience optimising Power BI models and reports for performance • Familiarity with DAX Studio, Tabular Editor or VertiPaq Analyser • Solid SQL skills for querying, investigating and validating underlying data • Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and translating them into reporting solutions • Ability to challenge or clarify requirements to ensure reporting definitions and calculations are correct • Strong dashboard and report-design skills • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a lead engineer responsible for the wider data platform • Strong written and spoken English • Microsoft Fabric, OneLake and Direct Lake experience, finance reporting, modern data engineering concepts, cloud data platforms, CI/CD for Power BI, Microsoft certifications and multi-client experience are advantageous but not required
