• Teach the fundamentals and potential of AI in engineering • Teach AI-supported working methods in the design process • Teach modern CAD workflows with AI support • Teach Generative Design and automated design variant generation • Teach AI-supported decision-making in product development • Teach AI-based error detection and quality assurance • Teach the assessment and validation of AI-generated design results • Teach the successful integration of AI into existing development and design processes • Deliver practical, accessible, and audience-focused training for the “Smart Design: AI Skills for CAD Professionals” qualification • Clearly explain where AI creates genuine added value in the design cycle and where technical expertise remains essential

🎯 Requirements

• Completed degree or technical training in mechanical engineering, design engineering, product development, or a comparable field • At least two years of professional experience in design, development, or technical engineering • Very good knowledge of at least one of the following CAD systems: Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Fusion, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA • Experience with parametric design and modern CAD workflows • Sound understanding of product development and design processes in mechanical engineering • Practical experience using AI productively throughout the development and design process • Experience in requirements analysis and concept development • Experience developing technical solutions • Experience in design and modeling • Experience with generative design variant development • Experience optimizing components and assemblies • Experience technically evaluating solution variants • Experience with error detection and quality improvement • Experience preparing technical documentation, specifications, and bills of materials • Experience using generative AI systems such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or comparable solutions • Ability to professionally evaluate AI-generated results with regard to functionality, feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness • Preferred: Experience with AI features in modern CAD systems • Preferred: Experience with Generative Design and topology optimization • Preferred: Knowledge of current developments in AI for design and engineering • Preferred: Experience optimizing development and design processes • Preferred: Knowledge of parametric variant design • Preferred: Experience with prompt engineering for technical applications • Preferred: Knowledge of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI use in a corporate environment • Preferred: Experience supporting practical projects or workshops • Advantageous: Experience with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or comparable solutions • Advantageous: Knowledge of Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI • Advantageous: Experience with AI-supported error detection and quality assurance • Advantageous: Experience with automated design variant development • Advantageous: Experience with rule-based design methods or CAD automation • Advantageous: Knowledge of simulation, digital engineering, or digital twins • Advantageous: Trainer aptitude certification (AEVO) or comparable educational qualification • Research expertise in artificial intelligence or a specialization in software development is not required; practical experience in mechanical engineering and productive use of AI in real-world design and development processes are what matter
