📋 Description

• Design and build production-grade APIs and microservices in Python • Model the domain using Domain Driven Design, including bounded contexts, aggregates, repositories, domain services and shared language • Integrate Neo4j for graph-centred work, including Cypher query optimisation and graph data modelling • Build data engineering and machine learning workflows on Databricks • Work with geospatial and temporal data, including spatial indexing, time series, geospatial standards and tools • Keep services reliable, fast and secure, and monitor them in production • Lead features end to end from technical discovery and design through implementation, testing, deployment and runtime monitoring • Review code, mentor colleagues, contribute to architectural decisions and identify risks early

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced Python, including clean idiomatic code, virtual environments, packaging, type hints, async and await • Production experience with FastAPI and async best practices • Solid object-oriented design and common patterns including factory, strategy, repository and dependency injection • Strong practical Domain Driven Design, including event-driven domain modelling • RESTful API design, including resource modelling, versioning, error handling, pagination and OpenAPI • Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka, MQTT or Azure Event Hubs; publish/subscribe and asynchronous task processing • Strong SQL with PostgreSQL or SQL Server, plus strong hands-on Neo4j experience • Docker, working understanding of Kubernetes and comfort with the Linux command line • Testing and CI/CD experience with pytest, TDD and GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps • Secure coding knowledge including OWASP Top 10, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT • Excellent written and spoken English in an international setting • Nice to have: Microsoft Azure, including Entra ID, Azure DevOps and Key Vault • Nice to have: structured logging, Prometheus or Grafana and OpenTelemetry tracing
