• Perform advanced billing and collection activities • Act as Lead IBC Assistant and train other IBC Assistants • Handle collection follow-up on specific financial classifications: commercial insurance, self-pay, Medicare and Medicaid claims • Make collection calls to insurance companies and patients to ensure timely payment of claims • Review remittance advice for rejection and accuracy • Verify accuracy and completeness of charge tickets with attached claims for maximum reimbursements • Contact insurance companies regarding payment posting and collection agencies regarding reports • Support customer service with billing and collection questions
• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience • 3 years of billing or insurance experience • Collections strategies • Computer literacy • Confidential data handling • Medical terminology • Office equipment proficiency • Driver's license not required for this position • Preferred: 2 years of post-secondary education
