Beschreibung

• Perform field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls on linear and site-based construction projects • Review specifications, permits, permit conditions, E&S control plans, and stormwater plans • Prepare and review periodic monitoring reports from field observations, submitted on paper or electronically • Assist with environmental reports, permit applications, and closeout requests, including wetland and stream delineation reports, erosion and sediment control plans, and sound studies • Adhere to GAI and client health and safety requirements • Maintain QA/QC standards and follow GAI and client quality management procedures • Serve as a field lead with minimal supervision on assigned work • Conduct technical analysis and writing • Travel to regional project sites across the Upper Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic regions, with potential overnight stays • Manage personal tasks and meet deadlines and project scope • Interact with internal project team members and support ecological field data collection, wetland delineations, and regulatory agency applications

🎯 Anforderungen

• Two to four years of demonstrated experience in environmental field monitoring; minimum 2–3 years related experience • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental and Earth Science, or similar field • Comprehension of E&S control BMP concepts, designs, and maintenance requirements • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability • Ability to utilize electronic location devices such as GPS or GPS-enabled devices to collect project-location data • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Office applications • Familiarity with report, database, and form completion through MS Word applications, including Access and SQL, and online programs • Valid driver's license and ability to pass required screening to drive a GAI vehicle • Flexibility for frequent regional travel and field work; travel expected 4–5 days/week, year-round • Ability to walk moderate distances through unimproved terrain and utility rights-of-way • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to hear and visualize potential hazards during fieldwork or site visits • Must successfully pass a drug screening • Preferred: knowledge of NPDES regulations and permitting, environmental agency E&S guidelines and BMPs, SWPPP, NPDES permit applications, erosion and sediment pollution control plan development, Phase I/II ESAs, hazardous waste due diligence, waste management, AutoCAD, GIS/ArcGIS, air compliance, spill response planning, Section 401/404 permitting, stream and wetland surveys, and delineation techniques • Preferred certifications/trainings: Qualified Environmental Inspector (PA), Responsible Person for Erosion and Sediment Control (MD), CESSWI, ASTM Phase I ESA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, and OSHA
