📋 Description

• Provide expert, timely, and empathetic advice on non-complex tax issues, including sales tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax strategy • Review tax returns with clients • Act as a high-level escalation point for client issues • Collaborate with Bookkeepers, Tax Preparers, Payroll Specialists, and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently • Use Salesforce and the 1-800Accountant proprietary platform to document interactions, manage client information, and resolve concerns • Understand and apply platform functionality and best practices • Assist clients in navigating their 1-800Accountant portal • Answer client questions, provide information, and escalate calls when necessary • Gather outstanding documentation and inputs from clients • Meet and exceed TSS metrics and KPIs, including CSAT and client retention targets • Handle incoming chats and phone calls, including Tax Hotline calls and Tax Advisory appointments • Deliver intra-day client sessions and provide coverage during peak seasons or advisory-team call-outs • Identify pain points and opportunities to improve internal processes and tools • Follow up to ensure issue resolution • Work seasonally through the end of April to support the busy season

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in Tax Accountant or Tax Advisory Support roles • Knowledge of Small Business, Payroll, Sales Tax, and Bookkeeping is essential • An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree is preferred • Proven success in promptly documenting, assessing, and resolving client issues • Understanding of SaaS products and front-line, call-center client support • Proven customer support experience or experience as a Client Service Representative • Track record of over-achieving quota • Strong chat and phone contact handling skills and active listening • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of customers • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively • Salesforce experience is a plus • Experience in an SMB environment is a plus • Experience with Tax Preparation in Lacerte software is a bonus • Flexible and adaptable when responding to evolving business priorities and ambiguity • Willing and able to address escalated client issues with speed and urgency • Ability to manage large amounts of incoming chats and phone calls • Ability to identify and assess customers’ needs • Ability to provide accurate, valid, and complete information using appropriate methods/tools • Ability to handle customer complaints and provide solutions and alternatives within time limits • Windows or Mac operating system; no Linux • Quad-Core CPU • Minimum 8GB RAM • Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload • Second monitor, webcam, and headset • Designated home office where sensitive information cannot be overheard • Must live in one of the approved states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Washington
