📋 Description

• Review AI-generated accounting work for realistic accounting workflows • Determine whether accounting conclusions are technically correct and properly supported • Verify that required accounting actions were completed and recorded • Identify unsupported figures, incomplete work, misapplied standards, invented figures, and unsupported assumptions • Review US GAAP financial statements and period-end reporting • Evaluate reconciliations, substantive analytics, tie-outs, and subledger-to-general-ledger reconciliations • Interpret whether accounting periods are open, locked, or reopened • Assess accounting errors, misstatements, materiality, adjusting journal entries, deferred-tax consequences, and ledger posting status • Evaluate US GAAP treatments including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, ASC 360, income-tax accounting, ASC 326, ASC 805, reserves, allowances, and significant accounting estimates • Review workpapers and accounting memoranda for completeness, professional quality, cross-referencing, sign-off, and evidentiary support • Provide clear agree/disagree rationales and precise explanations of technical errors and incomplete reasoning • Distinguish minor presentation issues from material accounting deficiencies • Apply evaluation standards consistently and produce feedback to improve AI performance on professional accounting tasks

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience in external audit, controllership, technical accounting, FP&A, tax, or a related discipline • Current or recent hands-on experience applying US GAAP • Strong professional judgement across financial reporting, accounting estimates, close processes, and technical accounting • Ability to identify unsupported numbers, incomplete deliverables, and misapplied accounting standards • CPA, actively pursuing CPA qualification, Big Four / accounting-firm experience, industry accounting experience, or equivalent professional background • Strong ability to read financial statements, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and accounting workpapers • Comfortable working with professional accounting software and financial systems • Familiarity with tools such as CaseWare, NetSuite, Power BI, or comparable audit, ERP, and reporting platforms • Strong written English and ability to explain accounting conclusions clearly and precisely • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
