📋 Description

• Provide global leadership and technical expertise for process safety to improve sustained safety performance • Develop and refine process safety standards, training, tools, communications, and audit requirements • Guide implementation of process safety expectations for emergency preparedness, hot work, mechanical integrity, and management of change • Lead and advise process safety and hazard assessment reviews, including LOPA, reactive chemical scenarios, and management of change requests • Review and support HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety assessment strategies • Guide process safety technology used to mitigate risks with manufacturing technology leaders and CAPEX project teams • Lead incident investigations and review root causes for process safety incidents and near misses • Elevate incident learnings across applicable facilities • Lead or participate in global process safety audits • Co-lead internal process safety networks and coach global process safety subject-matter experts • Facilitate new leader PHA reviews to ensure operations, engineering, and site resources understand risks and responsibilities • Collaborate with EHS, operations, engineering, R&D, legal affairs, occupational medicine, and external stakeholders • Participate in external benchmarking and trade association engagement • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards • Contribute to 3M’s Environmental Health and Safety culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and supporting continuous improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline, completed and verified prior to start • Five (5) years of process safety experience in a private, public, government, or military environment • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without employment visa sponsorship • Expertise in hazard assessment tools and programs controlling risks of fires, explosions, and chemical releases • Deep understanding of process technology and hazards • Experience with global, regional, and/or state process safety regulations and risk reduction strategies for manufacturing facilities • Ability to develop and maintain good working relations with clients • Broad communication ability; multilingual ability is a plus • Clear and concise writing and data documentation ability • Ability to multitask and manage activities and priorities within cross-functional teams • Strong project management skills • Previous experience in process engineering, design engineering, or manufacturing • Working knowledge and experience in one or more EHS disciplines, such as worker safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental compliance • Master’s degree or higher in an engineering, science, or EHS-related discipline is an additional qualification • Certifications such as CCPSC, PE, CSP, or related EHS credential are additional qualifications
