📋 Description

• Join deal teams to help win new engagements by proposing architecture, shaping scope, sequencing work, and recommending staffing • Maintain a trusted technical presence with clients on important accounts after work begins • Represent 8th Light and build market relationships through talks, writing, and in-person events • Shape and update service offerings and the firm's technical market position • Identify and build relationships with platform and AI partners with the Growth team • Drive go-to-market direction and continuously iterate on market presence, messaging, and target opportunities • Mentor technologists developing business leadership and impact • Advise on technical job standards and career pathing • Lead through influence initially, with potential to lead a small team as the company grows • Report to the CEO and collaborate with the CEO, VP of Growth, practice Partners, and senior technologists

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in custom software consultancies • Experience helping win work and contributing to delivery • Ability to discuss architecture with engineering leaders and ROI with client CEOs • Hands-on, current technical judgment • Excellent written and verbal communication • Ability to lead by influence rather than authority • Track record of pitching and winning enterprise engagements inside a consultancy • Public technical presence through talks, writing, or community leadership • Experience shaping service offerings or a firm's technical point of view • Relationships with cloud or AI platform partners • Working grasp of AI and agentic tooling • Experience mentoring senior technical talent • Willingness to travel regularly but not frequently for events, client pitches, and team gatherings
