📋 Description

• Support ABB’s growing systems drives business serving Pulp & Paper, Metals & Mining, and Cement industries. • Supervise installation of new equipment at customer sites according to manufacturer specifications. • Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and software tools. • Repair equipment using electronics knowledge, test instruments, computers, and hand tools. • Lead workers in servicing and repairing ABB equipment. • Instruct customers in electrical theory and operation of ABB Drives as required. • Lead drive system commissioning projects. • Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual system operation and maintenance problems. • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and product improvement suggestions. • Learn and use ABB tools including Drive Composer, Drive Windows, Control Builder, SAP, Concur, Outlook, and Citi-Bank Travel. • Drive service success to improve customer satisfaction, maximize customer retention, and increase profitability.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of technical work experience. • Associates Degree and 5 years of technical work experience. • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of technical work experience. • Understanding of AC and DC drive systems. • 3 years of experience performing field service engineering for AC and DC coordinated drive systems. • 3 years of experience using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. • Work with ABB 800xA is a plus. • A special combination of education and experience must be demonstrated in the AC drives area. • Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance applicable OEM integrated machines. • Candidates must already have work authorization permitting them to work for ABB in the US. • Must be available 24/7 based upon business necessity. • Up to 80% travel required. • Ability to write detailed technical field service reports. • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment. • Comply with ABB and customer safety requirements. • Complete all designated safety training on time.
