📋 Description

• Operate as the Technical Design Manager for ABB Electrification across the US • Develop relationships with the 10 largest design firms in the US • Ensure ABB products and solutions achieve preferred or acceptable manufacturer status in project specifications and designs • Work closely with the sales team and local Field Application Engineers • Support healthcare, data center, semiconductor, industrial, utility, and commercial construction markets • Manage technical relationships and serve as primary point of contact for 10 strategically designated design-firm headquarters accounts • Build and maintain partnerships with key decision-makers, technical leads, and engineers • Develop and execute account growth strategies and identify opportunities to expand ABB’s footprint • Own and manage budget targets for ABB project designs and monitor account performance against revenue goals • Ensure consistent technical messaging and account approach across regional boundaries • Support FAEs with escalations and complex customer challenges • Provide technical consultation and engineering guidance during project design and specification phases • Support proposal development, design reviews, and technical presentations • Respond to complex technical inquiries and coordinate solutions across ABB business units • Lead and mentor Field Application Engineers across multiple US locations • Share best practices, technical knowledge, and account intelligence • Align with the sales EPC team on coordinated account development strategies • Collaborate across ABB internal teams and business units to deliver integrated solutions and revenue growth

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. degree in engineering, preferably electrical • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the electrical distribution industry • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to consider multiple viewpoints and resolve technical issues • Problem-solving and new customer development capability • Self-starter, accountable for results, and able to work without detailed direction • Capability to establish and nurture partnership relationships with the regional engineering consulting community • Must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US • Proficiency applying MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, and arc flash mitigation technologies • Knowledge of industry codes and standards: ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL • Preferred: previous field, plant, or design engineering in electrical power systems at major oil and gas companies, electric utilities, or industrial facilities
