• Oversee and grow Abbott Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics Infectious Disease presence in the Greater Chicagoland area • Accelerate growth, expand market share, and drive revenue across key accounts • Serve as trusted advisor to existing customers by building relationships, understanding stakeholder priorities, conducting business reviews, and delivering proactive solutions • Develop and execute strategic account plans to protect and grow the customer base, expand value, increase profitability, and achieve annual growth objectives • Identify operational improvements, optimize reagent utilization, expand product adoption, and anticipate future customer needs • Manage sales processes and account strategy using SFDC, Power BI, Microsoft tools, sales metrics, forecasting, and analytics • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, proposals, bid preparations, customer implementation activities, and renewal planning • Maintain product, market, and competitive knowledge to influence purchasing decisions and position Abbott solutions • Collaborate with sales, health system, distribution, business analyst, distributor, and cross-functional teams • Manage and develop third-party distributor relationships through training, sales support, technical expertise, performance management, and ongoing communication • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, and professional standards
• Bachelor’s degree • Minimum 4 years proven success in medical sales, ideally within the diagnostics space • Experience working with distribution partners • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory (4 days/week, up to ~35% overnight travel) • Deep understanding of laboratory and point-of-care settings, health system operations, and health economics • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze healthcare market data • Demonstrated individual contributor experience including problem solving, complex selling, planning and execution • Excellent interpersonal skills and documented success in a team selling environment • Ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization • Experience with complex contracting and negotiation • Compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, and professional standards
