📋 Description

• Provide scientific and medical leadership for relationships with strategically important thought leaders and external experts • Establish a strong medical and scientific presence in key academic centers by facilitating research and educational initiatives • Support requests for medical and scientific information about Abbott Diabetes Care products and therapeutic areas • Collaborate cross-functionally with other in-field members while retaining functional independence • Serve as a medical and scientific affairs contact for thought leaders and external experts in the assigned geographic area • Deliver credible scientific presentations to healthcare providers individually or in groups • Participate in selecting qualified thought leaders for educational and advisory collaborations • Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key data and scientifically relevant information • Staff the Medical Affairs area of exhibit booths at national scientific meetings and congresses • Provide scientific and technical support for scientific or medical publications • Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies, and accepted standards of best practice

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences field • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline preferred, including PharmD, MD/DO, NP/DNP, PA, or PhD • Candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated experience will be considered • Current and relevant clinical licensure and board certification required, such as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, or Pharmacist • Board certification must be current and relevant to the clinical scope of practice • Ability to provide medical/scientific expertise and guidance to customers and thought leaders • Ability to deliver scientific presentations to healthcare providers • Willingness to travel 50% of the time • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car/truck as required
