• Develop and implement plans to maximize utilization of Abbott Cancer Diagnostics products in targeted accounts while staying within budget • Support corporate objectives and deliver key selling messages • Provide high-level customer service as an assay provider • Develop customer relationships using clinical and scientific expertise, stakeholder insight, and selling strategies • Understand territory-related clinical and political issues • Provide critical sales information and direct feedback to national, regional, and area teams • Work with managed care, reimbursement teams, patients, patient support groups, advocacy groups, and providers to ensure product access • Meet or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory through field-based calls and meetings with healthcare providers and staff • Sell company products and services, develop new accounts, and increase business within existing accounts • Develop and execute strategic territory-management and tactical plans • Drive growth through knowledge of disease states, competition, and external business influences • Complete training and work with genomic testing and Precision Oncology products • Maintain technical fluency in disease states, products, and competition to drive physician and influencer action • Attend sales meetings and professional conferences around the U.S. as needed • Develop relationships with national oncology and pathology opinion leaders • Maintain communication with internal employees, managers, and customers • Integrate feedback, prioritize work, and drive results • Uphold company mission and values and comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures • Maintain reliable attendance and work the designated schedule • Travel 75% of working time, potentially including overnight and weekend travel
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or another related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree • 5+ years of sales experience with a strong record of success selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology and/or diagnostics or similar complex healthcare products • 3+ years of medical sales experience in specialty areas including Buy & Bill, Medical Device, and highly clinical specialties such as urology, cardiology, or GI • 3+ years of experience selling in a highly competitive environment • Demonstrated clinical and scientific expertise • Demonstrated strong territory or account management skills • Demonstrated strong understanding of competitors and market trends impacting product utilization • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months • No alcohol or drug event involving vehicle operation within the last 36 months • No unacceptable liability findings from the Motor Vehicle Report check • Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship • Preferred: clinical experience • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in oncology selling chemo/immunotherapy or oncology diagnostics • Preferred: strong relationships within oncology accounts in territory • Preferred: experience selling to surgeons and cancer centers • Preferred: experience in NextGen Sequencing, Minimal Residual Disease, comprehensive genomic profiling, liquid biopsy, and/or hereditary cancer
