• Maximize opportunities for AbbVie’s Anti-Infective product portfolio within the assigned geography • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practices • Increase patient access, develop new business, expand current business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals • Advance hospital and specialty customers through the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments • Deliver on-label presentations and sales calls highlighting product benefits and risks • Build relationships with C-suite leaders, physicians, hospital staff, and support personnel • Solve product and patient-flow issues across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels • Coordinate stakeholders across departments around patient-focused solutions • Build market intelligence and support compliant programs and initiatives • Partner with AbbVie field and in-house teams, including MSLs, National Director of Accounts, and Key Account Directors • Create, execute, monitor, and adjust strategic geography business plans • Determine account-specific department, channel, HCP focus, and contact frequency • Develop account profiles and relationship maps using relevant data • Target key stakeholders and decision-makers to expand physician usage and the customer base • Participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and HCP meetings • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at industry venues and communicate key information internally • Complete required training and comply with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures • Meet healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements • Collaborate across healthcare institutions, organizations, and cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of experience, including three or more years preferred in the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry • High school diploma or GED required • Account-based selling experience with hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers • Experience building hospital advocacy for acute products • Experience navigating matrix environments and complex customers such as IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and outpatient accounts • Knowledge of formulary approval processes and driving formulary approvals • Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy product experience preferred • Documented strong sales performance and advanced sales skills • Ability to communicate novel or complex products and processes clearly • Strong business acumen, analytical ability, planning, organization, presentation, facilitation, and problem-resolution skills • Ability to analyze diverse data sets using multiple tools and define account or program strategies • Ability to learn procedural, technical, and clinical information quickly • Ability to understand, articulate, and present complex scientific information • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts and fully cover the assigned geography • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements • Ability to travel adequately across the territory and attend overnight training events and sales meetings • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screens, immunization or vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses • Must be in good standing or eligible to obtain required HCIR credentials
