📋 Description

• Own delivery, execution, and outcomes across multiple engineering teams • Lead and develop engineering managers and enable high-impact team delivery • Build a high-performing engineering organization through accountability, operating rhythms, talent development, and continuous improvement • Partner with product, architecture, data, security, and business stakeholders to shape strategy and roadmaps • Oversee backend data services, APIs, pipelines, and data products for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance • Drive technical and architectural decisions with architects and senior engineers • Establish and improve engineering processes for planning, prioritization, execution, dependencies, and releases • Communicate portfolio plans, risks, milestones, status, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences • Promote software development practices, code quality, test automation, observability, incident management, and operational readiness • Oversee production reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and response processes • Ensure data quality, security, privacy, governance, and regulatory compliance • Partner on organizational planning, staffing, succession planning, and resource allocation • Coach leaders and teams through organizational change and scaling • Track industry trends and drive adoption of valuable emerging technologies and engineering practices

🎯 Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience • 10+ years of software engineering experience • Strong backend and data engineering experience with APIs, distributed systems, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure • 4+ years of engineering leadership experience managing engineering managers and leading multiple teams or functional areas • Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and leadership development • Experience leading complex technical programs across multiple teams with accountability for delivery, resource planning, and business outcomes • Production-grade application development using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js • Experience designing and scaling data APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures • Knowledge of data warehousing, data pipelines, data integration, and data product development • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies including PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and DynamoDB • Experience with AWS, Git, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda, SQS, and SNS • Experience establishing unit, integration, end-to-end, load, and security testing strategies • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Strong operational leadership, incident management, reliability, and service ownership skills • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical judgment and pragmatic execution • Preferred: experience with NestJS, FastAPI, Kafka, Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, Datadog, and PagerDuty • Preferred: experience leading platform, data, or backend engineering organizations in product-driven environments • Preferred: familiarity with governance, compliance, and security in regulated environments • Preferred: experience driving organizational transformation, engineering maturity, and platform modernization
