• Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations • Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to gain calls to action and close sales calls • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements • Develop and execute call plans to achieve metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned healthcare providers • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates • Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, in-field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand stakeholders • Travel approximately 25% of the time
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, including three or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry • High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree • Proven track record of success in selling • Solid presentation skills • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing • English language proficiency verbally and in writing • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
