📋 Description

• Own significant portions of Abnormal AI's global privacy program, including legal judgment, operational execution and oversight, and AI-enabled tooling. • Advise product and engineering on privacy-by-design for an AI-native platform and support AI governance from the legal and privacy side. • Provide product-privacy legal counseling alongside the Director, Legal (Product). • Partner with the Privacy Manager to run day-to-day privacy operations, including DSARs, assessments, ROPA, notices, and audits. • Build and operate AI-enabled privacy workflows with Legal Operations and engineering. • Support global privacy program implementation and continuous improvement across GDPR/UK GDPR, EU AI Act, NIS2, DORA, EU Data Act, US state privacy laws, and other international frameworks. • Advise on international data transfers, including SCCs, UK IDTA, EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and transfer impact assessments. • Drive day-to-day execution of the AI governance program, including EU AI Act classification and related obligations. • Embed privacy into AI-driven features, including model data governance, secondary data-use analysis, behavioral-AI privacy implications, and vendor diligence. • Oversee privacy operations involving data-subject rights, data mapping, DPIA/PIA/TIA/LIA, retention, consent and cookie management, and audit support. • Monitor emerging privacy and AI regulations and translate guidance into product, market-entry, contracting, and go-to-market actions. • Act as privacy escalation point for vendor, subprocessor, and customer agreements, including DPAs, SCCs, and subprocessor terms. • Advise on and help lead privacy and legal aspects of incident response, breach assessment, notifications, and mitigation. • Support the DPO function and engage with supervisory authorities, customer privacy audits, and security questionnaires.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school. • Member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar. • CIPP/E and CIPP/US certifications. • 6–8+ years of relevant experience in privacy and data protection law and program execution. • Deep, current expertise in European privacy and digital regulation, including GDPR/UK GDPR, with working familiarity with NIS2, DORA, EU AI Act, and EU Data Act. • Experience operating in or advising technology companies, ideally cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud companies, including AI/ML products. • Experience contributing to and helping run a privacy program in a fast-moving, global environment. • Experience providing product legal counseling alongside privacy. • Strong drafting and judgment on DPAs, SCCs, and subprocessor terms. • Ability to own initiatives and drive them to completion with minimal oversight. • Ability to lead through influence and persuade diverse senior stakeholders. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Fluency with AI tooling and ability to build, prototype, iterate, and refine automation workflows to a high-accuracy, human-review standard.
