📋 Description

• Serve as the instructional and administrative leader of VPA Florida • Develop, implement, and achieve the school’s academic vision, student advancement, and daily operations • Work toward student achievement, school culture, and School Report Card/Accountability goals • Facilitate standards-based curriculum implementation • Review weekly lesson plans and conduct teacher walkthroughs/debriefs • Assume responsibility for academic and social-emotional student outcomes • Lead a growth-focused professional environment and data-driven instructional efforts • Develop or modify cultural programming and school-wide PBIS processes • Plan summer educational opportunities and before-and-after/supplemental programs • Ensure effective instructional program implementation across grade bands • Monitor teacher performance metrics and accountability • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with state and sponsor/authorizer regulations • Coordinate school technology efforts with IT and recommend improvements • Collaborate with Student Services on instructional models and student supports • Update parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks • Communicate the school’s mission and vision and solicit parent/family input • Build professional relationships with parents through regular communication and engagement • Coordinate special projects including peer mentoring, service learning, and community involvement • Conduct home visits as needed • Respond to parent concerns • Address student discipline and implement conduct and suspension/expulsion procedures • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in Education or related discipline is required; an advanced degree in education/educational leadership strongly preferred • Current valid Principal license • Turnaround experience • Three or more years of experience working in an online school in an instructional leadership role • Two or more years of experience in successful school administration/instructional leadership in an online school setting • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards • Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks • Experience in coaching teachers to improve their instructional planning, instructional practice, and classroom culture • Ability to meet educational standards as applicable • Ability to work well under pressure as well as effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently • Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
