• Manage all aspects of the assigned sales territory, including launching and selling products, meeting territory goals, and addressing customer needs. • Provide exceptional value and service using approved marketing and corporate resources to help providers identify and start appropriate patients on therapy. • Deliver results and exceed goals through territory business planning and execution. • Represent Acadia’s culture, mission, and values. • Develop strong relationships with healthcare provider customers, key opinion leaders, and relevant stakeholders. • Identify and investigate customer concerns and coordinate timely problem resolution. • Analyze sales potential and execute territory activities, including calls, reach, frequency, business meals, and speaker programs, within budgets and policy guidelines while monitoring ROI. • Collaborate with sales management, regional and area teammates, and cross-functional teams including patient access, market access, patient advocacy, sales operations, sales training, and marketing. • Attend local and national patient/caregiver advocacy events, conferences, and trainings, including occasional weekend work. • Build deep neuroscience and Acadia product knowledge and understand local and regional market trends. • Provide guidance on pricing and reimbursement and liaise with cross-functional teams on reimbursement questions. • Remain compliant with all regulations and perform responsibilities professionally and accountably. • Pursue leadership opportunities and personal development. • Travel up to 80% of the time and work after hours when required by travel schedules or business issues.
• Bachelor’s degree required, with a strong preference for life sciences. • Area Business Manager: at least 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 1 year in specialty sales, with emphasis in rare diseases. • Sr. Area Business Manager: 8 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including 5 years in specialty sales, with emphasis in rare diseases. • Preferred experience in specialty sales, including rare diseases, CNS/neurology, or pediatric neurology, and familiarity with specialty distribution and access. • Advanced selling and dialogue skills, with ability to build relationships with KOLs, Centers Of Excellence, and multidisciplinary care teams. • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to create and execute actionable business plans that ensure patient access to therapy. • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a self-motivated, proactive attitude. • Must live within the territory, with a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and air travel. • Must be in good standing with the FDA and OIG. • Ability to drive extensively and remain eligible for a company-provided car. • Must live within 30 miles of the required territory cities and, depending on territory geography, within a reasonable distance of a major airport. • Ability to travel by airplane independently as needed.
