• Manage the reconstruction portion of claims losses for insurance carriers and expedite claim closure • Handle board-up, tarp assignments, contents, fire mitigation, and repairs of $50,000 and under • Evaluate the extent of reconstruction needed and discuss the reconstruction process with insureds • Review loss and coverage information and determine whether losses are within policy limits • Verify claim status with insurance carriers • Partner with assigned contractors to discuss job scope and update claims with appropriate notes • Audit invoices for appropriate scope and negotiate pricing as necessary • Recommend reserve amounts based on exposure and advise on subrogation potential, possible fraud, or unusual underwriting risk • Work with public adjusters and attorneys to complete claims • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries received by phone, email, fax, claim alert, or electronic data interchange • Provide technical product information to customers • Enter claim data accurately into databases and business applications • Ensure quality standards are met and suggest process improvements • Participate in training and meetings • Maintain professional relationships with insurance clients, insureds, coworkers, and contractors • Meet assigned work schedules, productivity metrics, and quality benchmarks • Evaluate claim circumstances and determine resolutions in accordance with business guidelines • Perform other assigned duties
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience, or 3–4 years of experience in the insurance industry handling Property claims as a desk and/or field adjuster • Active Adjuster License required • Internet savvy and functional knowledge of Windows products such as Excel, Word, Teams, and other Microsoft Office programs • Advanced ability to audit estimates and invoices • Advanced negotiation and customer service skills • In-depth understanding of property claim handling requirements • Advanced knowledge of Xactimate and Xactanalysis • Quiet, distraction-free, appropriate work-from-home environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to utilize technology devices, software, and applications • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required • Reliable high-speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 10 meg download and 1 meg upload speeds • Ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord if working remotely
