ACERWC is an organ of the African Union dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC). Established following the adoption of the ACRWC by African Heads of State in 1990, ACERWC works to ensure that the rights of children are upheld across the continent. As of now, 50 out of 55 African Union member states have ratified the Charter, reflecting a commitment to improve children's rights and welfare in Africa.
