• Teach a broad range of courses online in the Masters and Ph.D. programs • Serve as a generalist in the eight CACREP core areas, five doctoral CACREP areas, and CACREP specialties in clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and Ph.D. in CES • Travel as required • Deliver online courses, including evening courses • Collaborate with academic departments, community agencies, and public schools • Participate in professional organizations • Engage in professional scholarship and achievement • Contribute to teaching, mentoring, service, and affirming diverse perspectives • Support the university’s inclusive excellence mission and students’ educational goals and well-being
• Doctorate in Counselor Education at the time of appointment start date • Strong focus on teaching • Knowledge of, sensitivity to, and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with diverse identities, cultures, backgrounds, and abilities • Evidence of responsiveness to the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity of Adams State University’s student population • Demonstrated commitment to honesty, efficacy, and collaboration • Active participation in professional organizations • Ability to work collaboratively with academic departments, community agencies, and public schools • Record of professional scholarship and achievement • Ability to perform duties in the position description • Willingness to develop and teach online courses • Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and work honestly, effectively, and collegially • Ability to use appropriate conflict management skills • Preferred: experience working with historically under-served and/or underrepresented populations and first-generation college students • Preferred: experience in recruitment and/or retention of underrepresented students • Commitment to professional development, scholarship, and service • Teaching experience and familiarity with online course delivery desirable • License eligible in Colorado • Required cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement with sample course syllabi, informed response, graduate transcripts, and three references • Proof of eligibility to work required before an offer is finalized • Successful completion of an acceptable background check required
