📋 Description

• Lead Advanced Energy United’s work in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island • Develop and implement strategies to accelerate the transition to 100% clean energy and electrified transportation • Work on legislative, administrative, and regulatory policy objectives • Develop policy positions and reach consensus with member companies • Manage lobbyist relationships and their engagement in legislative strategy and execution • Organize direct decision-maker engagement, lobby days, legislator and candidate education, earned media, and participation in legislative, regulatory, and administrative processes • Build and maintain relationships with coalition partners, allies, and legislative and administrative staff • Coordinate advocacy efforts with coalition allies • Create reports, presentations, fact sheets, and other written and visual advocacy materials • Deliver verbal presentations • Identify earned media opportunities with the communications team • Draft press statements, conduct media interviews, write blog posts, participate in webinars, and create opportunities to showcase advanced energy • Travel as needed within Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island and occasionally elsewhere

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Engineering, or Communications, or applicable comparable experience • Minimum of five years of professional experience in legislative policy development, campaign work, or organizing in the energy sector • Interest in energy and transportation issues • Understanding of the importance of policy advocacy to advance an organizational agenda • Entrepreneurial approach and flexible attitude • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Experience leading team efforts toward an agreed-upon goal and delivering quality finished products • Excellent interpersonal relationship-building and written and verbal communication skills • Must be willing to travel up to 20% • Must reside in the U.S.; strong preference for residence in Boston
