📋 Description

• Lead data center due diligence and design teams across colocation and hyper-scale data center projects • Oversee projects from site due diligence and campus planning through conceptual, schematic, and detailed design, construction documents, and construction administration • Coordinate architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS disciplines • Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans • Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders • Proactively manage and communicate project changes within AECOM and to clients • Identify problems early and develop creative solutions • Communicate project updates and resolve outstanding issues with stakeholders • Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects • Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders and buyers • Collaborate with global AECOM teams on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects • Perform hands-on, client-facing work with potential for upward career mobility

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, plus ten (10) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience managing the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers • Background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations with minimal oversight • Team leadership skills • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills • Preferred: Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License • Preferred: 12 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Certification • Preferred: Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional • Preferred: Active or recent leadership in a data center and mission-critical trade organization • Preferred: 12 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management and engineering • Sponsorship is available for this position • Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
