📋 Description

• Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers • Select air/water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions • Conduct internal and external computational fluid dynamics analyses to optimize airflow and system performance • Prepare or direct preparation of CFD models and analyze results to recommend design modifications • Coordinate design changes and resulting effects with other project trades • Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems • Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for IT equipment, power density, anticipated growth, construction phasing, and facility administrative/common areas • Implement energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery systems, and airflow management • Design filtration systems and air-quality monitoring mechanisms to protect IT equipment • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate HVAC with electrical infrastructure, UPS, emergency power, fire suppression, and other critical systems • Work in a hands-on, client-facing role on fast-paced data center projects for global clients • Collaborate with AECOM teams around the world

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation • P.E. registration is required • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is typically required • Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology as per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 • Experience or knowledge of HVAC systems and energy management • Eligible to work in the United States • Current H1-B visa holders may be eligible for permanent residency sponsorship • Preferred: master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management • Preferred: CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation
