📋 Description

• Install, calibrate, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on assigned Biocare Medical instruments and equipment and contracted third-party systems • Support corporate and field-based equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability • Provide technical support to clients, Biocare Medical Sales Team, Field Applications Specialists Team, and Technical Support Department • Serve as the on-site client point of contact for instrument and instrument service issues • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, QA/QC, and R&D to address instrument concerns, determine corrective action, and ensure timely follow-up • Participate in local, regional, and national histology/immunohistochemistry functions as needed • Travel domestically and internationally as required to minimize instrument downtime • Work on complex assignments and use considerable judgment to ensure timely and successful equipment repairs • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

🎯 Requirements

• Successful candidate must reside in the greater Chicago area • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technologies or a very closely related field, or equivalent experience • 4+ years of Field Service Engineer experience in the medical field or a very closely related instrument service field • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting competency • Robotics and fluidics experience is a plus • Specialized equipment repair training, experience, and/or certification preferred • Advanced computer skills for daily administrative reporting and interaction with instrument computer hardware and software • Current valid driver’s license • Ability to travel 75% of the time, domestically and internationally as required
