📋 Description

• Ensure external-facing products meet standards for reliability, accessibility, error handling, performance, and security. • Define release-quality standards and review production-system and product changes before release. • Build reusable technical resources, templates, authentication patterns, and environment setups. • Set up infrastructure for launches, including monitoring, alerts, and backups. • Track launched products and retire products that are no longer used. • Audit products for security vulnerabilities and implement remediations. • Harden Supabase and Vercel backend configurations and manage credentials and secrets. • Maintain the GitHub organization’s security posture. • Respond to security incidents through triage, remediation, and documentation. • Document data locations and enforce audit logging, backup, retention, and deletion controls. • Support compliance and data safeguards documentation for partner requirements. • Establish guardrails for AI-assisted development. • Write plain-language documentation and runbooks. • Mentor colleagues and improve the team’s technical judgment and capability.

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience with some back-end, infrastructure and security engineering experience. • Full-stack fluency sufficient to take someone else’s working prototype and make it production-grade for relatively simple, web-based products. • Experience working with AI-assisted development workflows. • Hands-on experience securing production databases, including access control design; Supabase or comparable platforms preferred. • Working knowledge of modern web hosting platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, or similar, and how to configure them securely. • Practical experience with credential management, API security, and authentication. • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and write usable documentation. • Comfort operating with autonomy in a small organization and good judgement about prioritization. • Familiarity with the education sector and student data privacy requirements is nice to have. • Access to high speed internet. • Required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification.
