📋 Description

• Advise Alliant's employee benefits business group on a broad range of legal issues • Review, draft, and negotiate master services, vendor, independent contractor, data privacy, confidentiality, referral, business associate, and other commercial agreements • Provide practical, business-centric advice on legal issues and risks to stakeholders and leadership • Collaborate with business units to understand commercial requirements in contracts and legal projects • Build relationships with and gain the trust of internal clients and stakeholders • Partner with IT, risk management, accounting, sales, operations, marketing, and human resources on contract review, legal compliance, and company policies • Advise corporate departments and business groups on privacy and security laws, regulations, and industry standards • Coordinate and synthesize advice from external counsel as needed • Review, update, and maintain legal policies, processes, playbooks, checklists, self-service tools, trainings, and templates • Perform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required • Member in good standing of at least one State Bar or the District of Columbia State Bar is required • Two (2) or more years of related work experience • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts • Two (2) or more years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts • Preference for experience with complex commercial agreements, data privacy agreements, go-to-market agreements, or enterprise technology agreements • Experience in privacy and data protection laws and regulations, including U.S. state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR, and other privacy laws • Experience providing creative, business-friendly solutions as part of complex negotiations • Experience in another applicable specialist area of law, such as healthcare, SEC regulatory, insurance, or data privacy • Skilled in implementing legal processes and translating legal advice into actionable guidance for business teams • Strong issue-spotting skills and ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and independently • Outstanding legal and business judgment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish professional relationships • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, including multitasking on multiple high-priority projects • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and able to learn contract management software
