• Assess and manage the company's corporate risks • Set standards for reviewing and negotiating insurance provisions in contracts • Direct negotiation of key contracts • Place and renew corporate insurance policies • Establish, evaluate and perform risk management best practices • Develop, implement and monitor risk management policies • Oversee the corporate audit program • Develop and manage the corporate insurance budget • Develop and maintain risk management procedural manuals • Implement and maintain record-keeping systems for risk and legal records • Work with senior management to identify risk strategies and corporate projects • Identify, secure, renew and manage commercial insurance coverage • Monitor insurance policies and communicate coverage to staff • Manage insurance renewals, brokers, insurers and claims • Coordinate loss investigations and loss-prevention improvements • Manage certificates of insurance and verify contractual requirements • Negotiate insurance programs and review policies for accuracy • Prepare underwriting submissions and collect underwriting information • Analyze claims costs and develop strategies to improve risk performance • Coordinate with senior management and legal counsel on claims management • Identify claims lessons learned and develop risk-reduction strategies • Maintain risk-management cost allocation systems • Analyze historical data and forecast potential loss levels • Work with insurers to set reserves for known exposures • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity and local safety committee efforts • Monitor regulatory developments and adapt risk-management processes accordingly • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Finance or related discipline • Ten (10) or more years working in a Risk Management leadership capacity • Expertise at analyzing risks appropriately and developing programs, processes and controls for managing risks and mitigating losses • Experience with all lines of coverage, direct claims responsibility, oversight of the insurance transaction, and managing insurance broker relationships • Experience working for a broker • Ability to work for and with others on projects, either as part of a team or team leader • Excellent communication and conflict management skills • Interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with brokers, insurers, vendors, clients and all levels of employees • Excellent contract review and negotiation skills • Demonstrated ability in project planning, decision making, results delivery and team building • Flexibility regarding assignments and responsiveness to company and client needs • Strong commitment to ethical behavior
