• Provide oversight and guidance for CPC’s construction lending activities, mostly for affordable housing projects in upstate New York • Work with company-wide lending teams on construction lending risk compliance guidelines, procedures, and policies • Assess and recommend mitigation of construction risk on individual projects and across the portfolio • Oversee third-party inspecting engineers and architects, including consultant selection, requirements, quality, and compliance • Review construction-related information at loan commitment, during construction, and at loan conversion • Communicate with borrowers, contractors, and architects to identify and assess budget and schedule risks and recommend mitigations • Prepare pre-construction and post-construction analysis reports • Review monthly construction status reports and construction documentation • Review Property Condition Assessment reports and advise on property condition, quality, and ongoing operational costs • Provide construction risk training seminars to internal and external clients • Perform administrative duties related to construction portfolio management and documentation as necessary
• 10 years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of building materials and design, construction processes and documentation, cost analysis and project scheduling for both agency level and non-agency level construction projects • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a construction lending environment, and/or representing construction lenders, with significant responsibility managing construction risk • A professional background or accredited degree in engineering, architecture or construction management is preferred • Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize a varied workload • Must be a self-starter and team player, able to work independently • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Employment sponsorship is not provided
