📋 Description

• Provide legal and strategic advice on global employment matters, including employee relations, terminations, compliance, background screenings, benefits, immigration, recruiting, compensation, and related matters • Assist in managing employment-related disputes, complaints, litigation, and investigations • Draft, negotiate, and review employment-related agreements, addenda, and amendments • Partner with the People team to develop AlphaSense’s people policies • Advise on the use of AI technology in employee relations, recruiting/hiring, and other employment processes • Remain informed about changes in global employment laws, regulations, and industry guidance • Help create and enhance playbooks to scale the legal function as the company grows • Work effectively across functional groups and time zones • Report to the Senior Counsel, Employment and partner with teams including People, Information Security, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Content

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school • Admission to, and good standing with, a state bar • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience advising clients on employment and labor-related matters in-house, with a nationally recognized law firm, or a combination • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, wage and hour laws, background check laws, benefits laws, immigration, and other international, federal, state, and local laws • Superior business acumen and commitment to responsive client service • Business-friendly and pragmatic mindset while balancing legal risk • Strong negotiation skills • Effective communication skills with internal and external professionals of all types and backgrounds
