📋 Description

• Manage, coach and develop 3 Payroll Specialists; conduct regular 1:1s, set objectives, and lead performance reviews • Allocate entity and workload ownership across the team, balancing complexity and coverage risk • Build a positive team culture with clear accountability and defined career pathways • Serve as first-line escalation for all payroll queries, exceptions, and processing issues during US hours • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing cycles across all 5 US legal entities, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery • Perform final review and sign-off on payroll runs before funding; act as hands-on processor for complex or high-risk entities • Manage off-cycle payroll runs, retroactive adjustments, and termination calculations • Own the payroll calendar and ensure all deadlines are met across entities • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations across all jurisdictions • Maintain SOX controls documentation and support internal and external audits • Manage year-end processes including W-2 production, reconciliations, and tax filings • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting US payroll; implement required process updates • Own day-to-day relationships with payroll system vendor, tax filing agents, and benefit administrators • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and Benefits teams as the primary US payroll contact • Prepare and present payroll metrics, exception reports, and KPIs for the Global Payroll Director and senior stakeholders • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and controls

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of US payroll experience, including multi-state and multi-entity environments • 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role with direct people management responsibility • Deep knowledge of US federal and state payroll tax law, wage and hour regulations, and year-end compliance • Hands-on experience with enterprise payroll systems (Workday Payroll) • Experience operating within SOX-controlled environments • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) and Workday Payroll certification necessary • Advanced excel skills and Power BI preferred
