📋 Description

• Complete initial pre-billing processes for ambulance claims before coding • Verify run reports daily and from the previous weekend • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, billing authorizations, and required signatures • Review physician certification statements • Identify and separate ambulance runs by billing type to expedite payment • Enter patient information into the billing system • Identify and file probates with county courthouses when necessary • Assist customers with account information • Work with Zoll RescueNet to support efficient billing • Direct patient complaints to the Billing Manager • Maintain the Ambulance Billing Network pre-billing process • Create and maintain billing and accounting policies and procedures under the direction of the Billing Manager and President • Provide customer service to internal and external customers • Complete other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School Graduate/GED • Ambulance industry experience (desired) • Medical terminology knowledge (desired) • Insurance industry experience (desired) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Detail orientation and good follow-up • Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and flexibility • Ability to work flexible hours, generally 7:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday • Ability to use desktop computers, multi-line telephones, fax machines, copiers, printers, and other standard office equipment • Ability to meet the 90-day performance standard of pre-billing 10–13 claims per hour with at least 95% accuracy • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment involving multitasking, prioritizing, frequent interruptions, and continuous interpersonal communication
