• Build and develop a caseload of new and existing donors and prospects capable of making planned gifts • Conduct virtual and face-to-face donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship • Create multi-year donor strategies and timelines leading to documented legacy commitments • Meet or exceed individual and team planned-gift revenue and pipeline goals • Identify, cultivate, and secure bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, endowments, and other asset-based gifts • Design personalized legacy strategies aligned with donors' philanthropic, financial, and estate-planning goals • Advise donors on planned-gift benefits • Conduct values-based estate-planning and family conversations • Collaborate with attorneys, financial planners, accountants, and donors' other professional advisors • Identify and qualify new planned-gift prospects through networks, prospect development, and research • Recommend engagement by senior staff and organizational leaders when appropriate • Partner with Major Gift Advisors and other ABS teams • Represent American Bible Society publicly to inspire legacy generosity and promote planned gifts • Document donor communications and interactions in Salesforce within one week • Keep opportunities current for accurate forecasting and follow up on caseload gifts • Complete monthly donor-contact and proposal activity targets • Follow up on high-level gift opportunities and qualified leads within two weeks • Attend training and maintain a professional development plan • Stay current on ABS ministries, projects, and major-donor proposals
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ • Identify with and participate in a Christian church and proactively seek to grow in Christian faith • Participate in organizational prayer, devotional times, organization-wide events, and regular work-related spiritual activities • Maintain exemplary Christian ethics, behavior, and conduct • Support organizational biblical and religious goals • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; related field preferred • Minimum of five years in relationship fundraising, planned giving, charitable gift planning, or estate planning • Clear record of achievement in a complex, mission-driven organization • Demonstrated success cultivating and securing planned or deferred gifts, or transferable experience in financial planning, estate planning, or complex gift-strategy development • Working knowledge of planned-giving vehicles, non-cash gifts, and tax, financial, and estate-planning concepts • Experience using a donor CRM; Salesforce preferred • Experience with Microsoft Office applications • Valid driver's license required • Ability to travel 40–60%, including regional travel in the West and Southwest United States • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally • Must pass a background check and satisfactory reference checks • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States • Must sign and agree to uphold the ABS Affirmation of Biblical Community
