📋 Description

• Retain and profitably grow a limited number of the largest and most strategic global and regional commercial card and payment clients • Provide proactive consultation to develop strong customer relationships • Drive and lead global program growth, profitability, and retention • Create strategic vision and set goals for profitable growth and retention across key global and regional customers • Create and own holistic global and regional account business plans with success metrics and regular formal reviews • Penetrate customer relationships across business units, service units, and global/regional teams • Create growth opportunities through proactive consultation and understanding of customers’ end-to-end payment ecosystem • Deepen customer relationships from program level through the C-suite • Drive a robust pipeline to grow share-of-wallet spend and net-new spend on American Express products and solutions • Lead contract negotiation strategy and management for renewals, RFP responses, and pricing proposals • Understand customers’ industries, businesses, organizational goals, financials, strategies, and risks related to global commercial card and supplier payments • Align customer needs with American Express products and services • Develop broad and deep relationships across American Express teams, customer teams, and third-party strategic partners • Collaborate and provide leadership across American Express global matrix teams • Cross-sell complementary B2B Payment Solutions and T&E Payment Products • Coordinate with client management, operations, servicing, risk and underwriting, legal, product management, strategic partnership, and operational teams • Ensure customer expectations, service quality, and contractual obligations are met or exceeded • Resolve complex issues involving global systems and process integrations, changing local-market regulations, underwriting, and risk mitigation • Use formal project management, action, and risk management plans when required

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience in client management, sales, and/or business development roles with multi-national, enterprise-level companies, ideally in the T&E commercial card payments and procure-to-pay process and payments solutions space • Proven track record driving growth and sales with global clients through pipeline development, customer needs research, strategic planning, solutions selling, and consultative selling • Experience in global contract management, complex negotiations, and collaboration with highly matrixed and decentralized global teams • Ability to develop, execute, and complete Work Plans, Strategy Plans, and Action Plans • Ability to assemble and deliver clear, concise presentations to Procurement, Finance, and Treasury professionals • Experience managing global programs and projects with cross-functional teams in a global matrixed organization • Ability to facilitate engagement with subject matter experts, balance competing priorities, lead with influence and limited direct authority, and operate amid ambiguity • Ability to lead complex client discussions, manage escalations, and influence decisions • Strong knowledge of global commercial payment products and solutions and their economic and financial benefits • Maturity of judgement in client and internal situations • Strong analytical skills • Ability to effectively leverage internal resources • Strong customer service skills and responsiveness • Polished, professional negotiation and selling skills • Solid knowledge of Global Corporate Payments products and services • Ability to drive results • Ability to work in a virtual setting • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S.; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship • Preferred: 8 years of Commercial Card Relationship Management/Consulting/Sales experience with global customers • Preferred: Corporate finance, accounting, and finance operations experience • Preferred: Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, expense management solutions, and accounting/ERP systems • Preferred: Negotiation and contract management experience • Preferred: Program management skills and experience, ideally leading global teams • Preferred: Project management skills and experience • Preferred: Knowledge of the competitive environment within the Commercial Card and P2P space • Preferred: Understanding of Treasury functions and T&E management • Preferred: Understanding of Meetings and Events management
