• Serve as a primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers • Execute Amgen Medical and product strategy through accurate, balanced, and scientifically rigorous scientific communication • Engage Pulmonology, Allergy, ENT, and Gastroenterology provider segments • Prioritize engagement based on local patient pathways, referral networks, scientific opportunity, and indication-expansion readiness • Conduct peer-to-peer activities with Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and product-indication-expansion stakeholders • Manage the Southern California and West/Central Arizona territory • Engage clinical investigators and sites in support of the therapeutic area pipeline • Communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers • Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify Amgen’s reach and patient access • Conduct in-depth scientific exchange consistent with MSL compliance standards • Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially serve as a study lead • Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research • Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders to inform Amgen strategies • Lead and support congress activities • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data • Lead or participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics • Partner compliantly across Amgen field roles to create a coordinated One Amgen experience • Execute administrative responsibilities and training, including Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules • Maintain and improve clinical/scientific acumen and expertise with current data, information, and healthcare trends
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience • Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered) • Preferred: 1+ years Medical Affairs experience • Preferred: 4 or more years in a medically related field, including 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research • Experience in a medically related field can include post-doctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships) • Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company • Respiratory and/or Immunology expertise • Experience with designated territory • At least 60-70% travel for territory management/provider engagement, conferences/workshops, and company meetings • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate scientific data • Ability to execute administrative responsibilities and training, including Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules, in a timely manner • Maintain current clinical/scientific acumen, expertise, data/information, and healthcare trends • Sponsorship for this role is not guaranteed
