• Lead therapeutically aligned activities to develop strategic objectives and tactics with Medical for National Accounts and prioritized regional accounts • Develop and maintain professional relationships with targeted payer, pathways, GPO, trade and specialty pharmacy population health decision makers • Integrate comprehensive value and total cost of care models with the Field Medical organization • Support strategic relationships between targeted national and regional payer/pathways executives and senior Amgen executives • Apply knowledge of CMMI healthcare payment and service delivery models for the Enhancing Oncology Model • Synthesize customer insights to inform short- and long-term strategy and evidence generation plans • Serve as Medical Value & Access lead contact for US V&A, GV&A, Government Affairs, CfOR and Scientific Communications • Participate in strategy discussions with Market Access & Trade for payer engagements • Lead internal training initiatives supporting comprehensive value across Field Medical and Scientific Communications • Serve as Oncology/Rare/Orphan Disease strategic point of contact for assigned Commercial National and Regional account directors • Review and provide clinically appropriate input on utilization, prior authorization and criteria-for-use medical policies • Support Managed Care/Payer advisory boards, congresses and professional association meetings • Serve as principal Medical point of contact with Government Affairs on policy issues and legislation related to patient access and health outcomes • Support understanding of HCEI communication principles and adherence to relevant SOPs • Travel approximately 30%
• Doctorate degree and 4 years of Medical Science Liaison and/or Payer/PBM experience, or Master’s degree and 7 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O. or Master’s Degree preferred • At least 5 years of related Payer/PBM/Pathways/Trade/Specialty Pharmacy customer experience preferred • At least 2 years of Group Purchasing Organization experience preferred • Evidence of significant impact and rapport with payer accounts • Leadership experience and demonstrated ability to inspire, coach and develop talent • Deep knowledge of managed markets, pharmacoeconomics, population health and healthcare policy/legislation trends • Excellent strategic perspective, communication and presentation skills • Strong background partnering with Medical and Commercial cross-functional colleagues • Approximately 30% travel required • Sponsorship is not guaranteed
