• Evaluate students with communicative disorders • Diagnose speech and language disorders • Develop and implement individualized education plans • Develop appropriate service delivery models • Refer students to professional and community agencies • Consult with classroom teachers and school personnel to support classroom carry-over of therapy gains • Provide information, support, and guidance to parents, guardians, and families • Assist teachers in identifying children with communicative disorders • Maintain records for evaluated students and students receiving services • Inform administrators and educational team members about program developments and student progress • Engage in professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership • Coordinate services with other school programs • Communicate effectively in written and oral formats • Perform other related duties as assigned
• Active (or eligible) Alabama State SLP license • Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with endorsement in Speech Language Pathology • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology • Strong communication and collaboration skills • School-based experience preferred, not required • Adherence to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations
