📋 Description

• Work with lesson developers and graph specialists to apply medium- to high-complexity scripting to interactions • Brainstorm ideas and develop prototypes for new interactions • Identify and rectify bugs, edge cases, and performance issues in activities • Review and optimize activity scripting during end-of-development “tune-ups” • Test scripting for correctness, error messaging and warnings, teacher dashboards, performance, and student experience • Apply small additions to the Desmos graphing calculator expression list when complex interactions require graph and Computation Layer capabilities • Develop interactions requiring extensive Computation Layer programming • Apply accessibility features to digital curriculum materials by authoring custom screen reader narrations and scripting playback • Participate in cross-functional ideation sessions • Provide written and video-chat feedback • Receive, synthesize, and implement feedback to improve interactions • Learn and apply Amplify’s philosophies for technology, design, pedagogy, accessibility, and equity • Share best practices, discuss challenging problems, explore tools, and review interactions with other Computation Layer specialists • Explore technology boundaries and provide feedback to product and engineering teams to drive future tool development • Identify ways equity principles can inform products, processes, and team interactions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree • 3+ years of experience teaching in K–12 classrooms • Basic proficiency with Computation Layer, including understanding of sinks, sources, conditional logic, connecting student inputs with other components, and Computation Layer limitations • Excellent problem solving skills • Alignment to team and company values around technology, design, and pedagogy • Shared commitment to accessibility and equity work • Legally authorized to work in the United States • 5+ years of experience teaching Math in K–12 classrooms (preferred) • High proficiency in Computation Layer (preferred) • Background check required if selected • May be required to provide additional documentation, proof of vaccination, or enhanced background screening such as fingerprinting
