📋 Description

• Provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on management for AMSURG’s comprehensive claims portfolio • Manage the end-to-end claims lifecycle within the Risk Management department • Manage a portfolio consisting of Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability claims • Evaluate and investigate reported incidents, allegations, and claims • Assess liability, determine compensability, verify coverages, and manage carrier notifications • Partner with external insurance adjusters and defense counsel on defense strategies and claim outcomes • Execute releases or payments within designated authority • Lead continuous improvement, operational excellence, high performance, and compliance initiatives • Advise Corporate and Center staff on claims-related issues • Optimize Return-to-Work programs and manage subpoenas and medical record requests • Analyze complex claims data and third-party loss runs to identify risk trends • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and translate data into strategic insights for leadership • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, Real Estate, and Operations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a claims handler • Basic knowledge of claims processes, including litigated and non-litigated matters • Understanding of reserve setting, claim finances, and loss run data analytics • Strong knowledge of state or federal regulations and/or statutes regarding insured claims preferred • Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Property experience highly preferred • Ability to evaluate liability and determine compensability • Ability to verify coverages and manage carrier notifications • Experience managing litigation, external insurance adjusters, and defense counsel • Analytical ability to identify risk trends from complex claims data and third-party loss runs
